About Affordable Occasion
At Affordable Occasion, our goal is simple: To make your occasion affordable. While there are some families who may be able to hold events where cost is of no consequence, there are a growing number of couples who need to keep their event within a workable budget. So they spend a considerable amount of time searching and looking for competitive pricing. Sometimes without finding the service they wanted and eventually just doing without it because it could not fit into their budget.
The idea of this site began with stories of how couple number 1 spent over $40,000 on their wedding and couple number 2 spent $5,000 on theirs and the outcome ended up the same. Here at Affordable Occasion we realize the importance of building a memory. We just do not feel that being in debt for years should be a part or a constant reminder of that memory. Nor should it put your parents or the party who is paying for the event in debt. Having an affordable occasion does not lessen the event, in fact, it makes it sweeter for those who are involved in putting it all together.
When we started seeking out affordable services we came across some absolutely beautiful sites with all kinds of services. The prices just astounded us. Perhaps it is because we live on budgets ourselves and know that what little nest egg we have built up could be best put towards other financial responsibilities like: retirement, education, auto, home or even put towards helping the happy couple get a home. From the price differences stated above, what could you do with the $35,000 you saved by making your event more affordable?
We know there will be differences in services. Like eating at Sha’ La’ Overpriced as opposed to Olive Garden. You can walk out of Sha’ La’ Overpriced with $500 less than you walked in with but hey, they sure were dressed nice and the waiter that you felt obligated to tip highly (since the tab was so high) was eloquent in speak and manner. Or, you can walk out of Olive Garden saving $450. In both occasions the result is the same, you’re full and hopefully had a satisfactory meal. I myself however, have walked out of Sha’ La’ Overpriced and had to stop at McDonalds to get filled up because the fancier places seem to be more concerned over appearance than quantity.
The main point being that sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you don’t. So for those of you more concerned about what the occasion is about: a beautiful and wonderful occasion where two people are coming together to form a family of their own is where we come in. We are building this site to advertise services who are starting up, looking for work and who are offering value based competitive pricing. We ask for your help in building this site by sharing your experiences with holding your event within a budget by posting to our blog and/or sharing info on services who provide value based pricing.
If you provide such a service, please contact us so that we can include your service on our site.
